Concept note
In today’s era of globalization, higher education is becoming increasingly international, with Algeria playing a notable role in this dynamic. Each year, the country welcomes international students, most of whom come from sub-Saharan Africa, while at the same time Algerian student mobility abroad has become central to debates about the appeal of foreign universities and immigration policies. A dedicated study day has been organized to compare empirical data with theories developed by researchers in the humanities and social sciences, focusing on university mobility and migration. The aim is to analyze both incoming mobility toward Algeria and outgoing mobility from Algeria, in order to better understand how individual choices and behaviors can influence the nation’s economic development.
