Scientific event

This symposium, titled "Literature, Cinema, and Theater in Algeria," focuses on highlighting the diverse and multifaceted relationships connecting Algerian literature—in its three languages—with various artistic expressions and practices, specifically cinema and theater. The meeting aims to foster discussion on the evolution of these arts and the historicity of their interactive relationship, in order to identify their distinct characteristics as well as the boundaries of their convergence, overlap, and integration.
The scheduled presentations cover a wide range of topics, addressing the historical trajectory of these artistic practices on one hand, and critically examining the transitions and interconnections between their various languages on the other. Featuring contributions from writers, playwrights, filmmakers, specialized researchers, and practitioners, the managed discussions will help define the key landmarks in the interaction of Algerian literature (in its three languages) with cinema and theater.
